We take your privacy with regard to these technologies very serious. As we want to ensure your privacy and want to improve the user-friendliness of you visit (s) to our platform, we would like to explain how and why we use cookies.
What are cookies?
A cookie is a simple small text file that is sent from some of our webpages and is stored by your web browser on the hard drive of your computer. Some cookies only help to make the link between your activities on our platform during your website visit. Other cookies will remain on the hard drive of your computer and will be sent back to our servers, or those of third parties who have placed the cookie for us, at the time you visit our website again.
What are other tracking technologies?
Next to cookies, other tracking technologies are used which are similar to cookies. These can include web beacons (also known as pixel tags, web bugs or gifs), tracking URLs or software development kits (SDKs). A web beacon is a tiny graphic image of just one pixel that can be delivered to your computer as part of a web page request, in an app, in an advertisement or in an HTML email message. Pixels can be used to retrieve information from your device, such as your device type or operating system, IP address, and time of visit. They are also used to serve and read cookies in your browser. Tracking URLs are used to understand from which referring website our platform is visited. SDKs are small pieces of code included in apps, which function like cookies and web beacons.
In addition to cookies, our platform also use social media buttons. These buttons are included to promote web pages (‘like’) or share (‘tweet’) on social networks like Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and Youtube. These buttons work through pieces of code that come from Facebook, Twitter, Google + and Youtube itself.
All these technologies are together referred to in this statement as “cookies”.
